Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team on a high-impact 6-month temporary assignment, with the potential for extension. This role is crucial for managing complex payroll processes, compliance, and detailed reconciliations. This opportunity offers excellent flexibility with 2 days working from home per week.


About the Role

This is a hands-on role focusing on the end-to-end processing of complex payroll events and ensuring absolute compliance and data integrity. Key responsibilities include:

  • Complex Payroll Processing: Managing and administering all payroll aspects related to complex employee lifecycle changes and transitions.
  • Calculation Expertise: Accurately calculating complex final entitlements, special payments, and ensuring strict associated regulatory and tax compliance.
  • Query Resolution: Serving as the subject matter expert to solve complex payroll queries from employees and stakeholders.
  • Reconciliation & Compliance: Performing detailed reconciliations of leave balances and ensuring strict adherence to tax compliance regulations.
  • Data Integrity: Investigating and resolving data issues across multiple payroll and HR systems.

About You

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience operating as a Senior Payroll Officer or similar capacity.
  • Mandatory Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience managing and processing employee lifecycle changes, and associated tax compliance.
  • Reconciliation Skills: Strong demonstrable experience in all forms of payroll reconciliation (including leave and general ledger).
  • Excel Proficiency: Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) for data analysis and complex calculations.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to effectively liaise with HRPBs and resolve queries.
  • Prior working knowledge of Workday (HRIS) and PayGlobal (Payroll System) is a definite advantage.
